Gone are the days where you are (or should be) expected to be consistently productive from 9 to 5. The sound of babies wailing and dogs barking are filling the backgrounds of our zoom conversations, because...that's life as it is.

Your employer brand, for now (and the foreseeable future), is your brand.

As opposed to being considered a long-term lead acquisition tool in response to the war for talent, companies of all sizes are realizing that employer brand is evolving into something much more powerful. The reason being: people will remember these unprecedented days, and how you tell your story matters.

Just as us individuals are going through identity crises, adapting to our most desperate emotional needs - your true company priorities and values are going to shine through.

This pandemic is one for the books. And in this particular chapter, it will document:

- Did your company give back to the community?

- How well did your leaders support employees through this transition?

- Did leaders show empathy and transparency, especially when making tough decisions?

Because when the dust settles, your future candidates will ask: "How did you manage COVID in 2020?"

P.S. Your customers will care too.
